Course Outline
The course welcomes vocalists with a wide variety of backgrounds and experience who want to develop and improve their jazz singing. One of the most distinguished and experienced UK jazz vocal teachers will be leading the faculty: Anita Wardell.
The course is organised by Tristan Mailliot who takes care of the day to day running of the course as well as playing drums and leading rhythm workshops. This is the seventh jazz vocal summer school at the Domaine de Bel Air.
Accompanists and support faculty include pianists Rob Barron and Barry Green who have participated in previous vocal summer schools, 2004-2009, and have a wealth of experience working with singers. Returning participants will be familiar with local bass player Marie Boisseau.
There is a strong emphasis on practical skills and participants have the opportunity to prepare songs for performance in the evenings with professional accompanists.
